![]() OVERVIEWThe Greater Chicago Area Systems Research Workshop (GCASR) is the premier venue for the Chicago systems research community. We are holding the 6th GCASR in April 2017, and this year's keynotes will include Steven Lavalle, Professor at UIUC and Chief Scientist of VR/AR/MR at Huawei Technologies, and Chris Gladwin, former CEO and founder of Cleversafe. Last year's meeting had over 250 attendees, 20 leading technologists and research speakers, and Keynotes by William J. Dally, Chief Scientist and SVP of Research at NVIDIA, and Mike Franklin, Founder of the Berkeley AMPLab and Spark project, and leading database researcher. The workshop's goal is to promote awareness, collaboration, and synergy amongst academic and corporate systems researchers in the region, and includes major participation from the University of Chicago, Northwestern, UI Chicago, IIT, and Argonne Natl Lab. This year's workshop will be held on Monday, April 24th, at the McCormick Tribune Campus Center, at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
